DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Monnier a Paris, verge fusee, 48mm, 18K gold OF original case with beautiful en grisaille rear enameled scene in gray and white tones against a blue background depicting a hunter with rifle at center, a woman at right, and a dog at left, bezel with blue and white enamel detail, pendant with blue enamel and white enamel detail, white enamel dial with winding aperture at 2, KWKS (key not included with this lot), verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#7790 with matching serial number to upper face of pendant. Gross weight of assembled watch 46.7 dwt (72.5 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, main plate with some fine scratches and with haze to perimeter areas, ultra-fine scratch striations presumably from a past light wiping, coqueret with mild oxide; flawless dial; nearly mint hands; case shows hardly any wear, two short scratches to rear enamel detail toward upper-left perimeter, no dents or dings, enamel detail virtually fully intact with only a few very small mild surface flakes at upper rear edge and at a few points of front bezel; tight bow; good domed glass crystal.
